Hey there!

I'm Matthew Graham

I’m a data analyst based in Buena Park, CA. I love working with computers and alternate forms of transportation. I strive to analyze problems and uncover meaningful insights from data.

Becoming a Data Analyst

Over the course of learning the technical skills to become a data analyst, I learned important soft skills around using those tools.

In Excel, I learned how to be more thorough as it was important that I clean the data completely. Without clean data, the analysis and conclusion from the data would be useless.

In Tableau, I learned to be more concise with communication. When building effective dashboards, it is important to keep it simple. Too much information is overwhelming and would reduce the clarity of my analysis.

In SQL, I learned to be a better problem solver. SQL is an amazing tool to understand data. However, with that power, I had to think hard about how to view my data. Querying data can be simple yet complex due to the intricacies of joining tables and information.

In Python, I learned to be more organized. When coding in Python, it is important to comment your code so that the code's purpose is clear to others.
